Order and payment problems
Account suspended or restricted out of nowhere
A selling account, payment app, or platform profile gets restricted or closed with little explanation, sometimes with funds inside. Reports here are about companies, and also about the fake 'your account has been suspended' texts that copy them.
What it looks like
- 'Your account has been limited' with a vague reference to policy.
- Money held for weeks or months 'for review'.
- Appeals that get form replies.
- A text or email about a suspension that links somewhere other than the real site.
Why do accounts get suspended without warning?
Automated systems flag accounts at scale and explanations are thin, which is frustrating but often reversible. Scammers copy the same message because it makes people click first and think later. The two look alike from the outside, and telling them apart matters.
What to do
- Log in through the app or by typing the address yourself, never through a link in the message. If nothing's wrong there, the message was fake.
- For a real restriction, appeal in writing through the platform, keep copies, and ask specifically about held funds.
- If funds are held past the stated period, complain to the CFPB (US) or your local regulator.
- If you clicked a suspension link and entered a password, change it now and turn on two-step verification.
